The first picture is of Tzar Nicholas and King George having swapped their uniforms. Had Tzar Nicholas been able to see the future, I doubt he would have been keen to return to usual Russian imperial attire.
In the spirit of emperors I have also included Napoleon’s uniform. It is simply stunning.
Nelson was wearing this ‘Undress uniform’ when he died. It has the most beautiful tail embroidery and I love the simplicity of the paired down old naval uniform.
